Blake Collins
Blake Collins is a young adult contemporary author who writes stories about grief, healing, and the quiet courage it takes to keep going when life falls apart.
His debut novel, Unfinished Goodbyes, follows a teenage boy navigating loss, guilt, and forgiveness after a devastating accident. The book reflects Blake’s belief that while grief never truly leaves us, it can become something that shapes us instead of breaks us. His stories focus on emotionally honest characters, deep relationships, and the moments that change us in ways we never expect.
Blake is also an assistant principal and educator, where he works closely with students and families every day. Being in schools keeps him grounded in the real emotional lives of teenagers, the way they carry pain quietly, the way they love fiercely, and the way they search for connection even when they feel alone. That experience shapes his writing, giving his stories authenticity, empathy, and a strong sense of hope.
When he is not writing or working in education, Blake is a husband and father of four, a gamer, and a lifelong reader who has always been drawn to stories that leave a mark long after the final page. He believes books can be a lifeline, especially for young people who feel unseen or misunderstood, and he writes with the hope that someone out there will find themselves in his characters and realize they are not alone.
Blake is currently working on his next novel, The Weight of Staying Alive, a story about love, illness, and the fragile beauty of holding on when everything feels uncertain. Through every book, his goal remains the same: to tell stories that make readers feel deeply, think honestly, and walk away with a little more hope than they had before.
